In Case You Missed It: Oakhurst Fall Decorating Contest

The 2nd Annual Oakhurst Fall Decorating Contest was a great success! The winners were as follows:

Best Fall Decorations: Claudia Cimma & Rob McKenney, 2321 Daisy Lane

Best Halloween Decorations: Beth Price, 2320 Marigold Ave

Both winners received a yard sign and gift certificate from the Tributary Café on Race Street, a contest supporter.

Sponsored by the Oakhurst Beautification Committee, the contest is in its second year. This year, neighbors were able to vote online for their favorite entries from a list of nominees, as announced in our previous post. Other nominees included:

Fall Decorations: 2308 Marigold and 1920 Bluebonnet

Halloween Decorations: 2333 Daisy Lane, 2530 Goldenrod, 1905 Bluebonnet and 1924 Bluebird

The organizers wish to thank those who participated, as well as everyone who voted. The time for voting was shortened and the judging dates pushed back because of the wet weather. The committee looks forward to hosting a contest this Christmas when everyone will be asked to select their favorite holiday decorations.
