Elections and Raffles! ONA Meeting this Thursday!

Neighbors, it's that time of year!  Please join us this Thursday for ONA's spring general membership meeting.

Elections

We will be electing Oakhurst Neighborhood Association officers for 2018-'19 on Thursday.  This year's nominating committee has put forth the following slate of candidates for election:
  • President:  Jan Buck
  • Vice President:  Freda Calabrese
  • Treasurer:  Jan Bass
  • Secretary:  Burney Dickinson
We will also be electing street representatives and alternates.  If we happen to have a contested race, per the bylaws, each nominee will be given the opportunity to address the membership regarding their qualifications for up to 3 minutes.

Dues

Our membership year commences with the spring meeting, so this is a perfect opportunity to pay annual dues and/or make optional donations.  For more information on ONA membership, see the Join ONA section of our website and/or Contact Us with any questions.  Thanks in advance for your support!

Raffle

New this year is a fundraising raffle hosted by the ONA Beautification Committee.  The following great prizes (and possibly more!) are up for grabs:
  • A George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Grill
  • A bottle of 18-year single-malt scotch
  • A golf pass for four at the Texas Star
Proceeds will assist ONA with certain special projects:  completing the landscaping at Audine's Circle, purchasing flag holders for the light poles around Oakhurst Park, and completing the hardscaping project honoring Fred and Phyllis Anglin at the West Lotus cul-de-sac.  This last project is planned such that additional names can be added at future dates to continually honor those who have contributed to our neighborhood.

Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and may be purchased at Thursday's meeting.  If you don't expect to make the meeting, please contact Fran Burns at frances-burns@att.net or 817.715.7066.  The Committee's goal is to sell at least 100 tickets.  Please consider supporting this effort to win great prizes and benefit all Oakhurst residents.  Thank you!
